Between
The Horns

So Slive is leaving the CUSA for the SEC Commisioner
spot. Now let’s put this into some perspective. What could
be the motive for this? $$$ certainly. But wait, is there an issue
of job security here? Are we witnessing the moves prior to the NCAA
regs on Division I-A status taking place? I believe we are and here’s
why.
CUSA doesn’t have the attendance everyone thinks.
Do you recall a game on ESPN between TCU and Southern Miss last
year? Probably not. Let me fill you in - NO ONE WAS THERE! CUSA
is in the same boat as the MAC. A few cash cows and lot of parasites
along for the ride. It wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see
the biggest of the MAC join with the biggest of CUSA to form a new
conference in the next year or two. The rest would go to division
I-AA.
In the upcoming months there will be much talk about
the run defense. So keep this between your horns. As long as the
final score says Marshall wins - I don’t care if we have the
cheerleaders on the defense. Hey that might not be a bad thing.
Those guys are big ya know.
