Between
The Horns

So the Herd is now playing in Charleston. Hmmmm. That's
the state capital. Hmmmm. And Charleston's mayor is going to be
there. Hmmm. And the GMAC Bowl trophy is going to be there. Hmmm.
And WVU is not going to be there. Big hmmm..
What's that smell? (sniff sniff). Oh, that's just
Firin' Byron lighting up the pigskin there...ok, maybe it's Big
Terry's ribs. The Herd is the main attraction a "community
event" in Charleston. I just wonder how much community is really
involved here. Perhaps there's some bigger reason other than to
put out a special post mark. I can think of one...a Marshall WVU
matchup in the fall maybe?
Personally, I think this little shindig at Oakes field
is a testing ground to see what kind of fan response the Herd has
outside of Huntington. I can almost see the legislators kicking
back and thinking..."we can make money off this". Go Mayor
Go! Go for it on 4th and inches when you can. Hey, gimme a hot dog!
- - ka ching!
I just hope the WV legislature gets the heck out of
the way and let the two schools do the match up. Actually it's more
like a dream, because they won't. So in that case let me break it
down our folks at the Capital building.
One football ticket - $25
One Stewarts hotdog - $3
One soft drink - $1.50
Byron Leftwich running over the WVU secondary
(you fill in the blank).
Go Herd
