Comment 12.29.2000 - 3 Outta 4 in Mo-Town. Well, I guess we taught the rich kids at UC a lesson. What a reward, you win the Mac and you get to play the 4th place C-USA team... now that's a reward (please excuse the sarcasm). Who wants to play an SEC, ACC, Big Ten or Big East Team? We want to have a successful season so we can play an unranked team. Gee, thanks Motorcity Bowl! It's time to switch to a new conference!

We agree with your thoughts. Playing the 4th place team from the Conference USA is a slap in the face to a Conference Champion like Marshall. This is why we need to get a second bowl to get away from the selection of teams that can possibly bring the number of fans that Ken Hoffman and George Perles want. This will eventually be the downfall of this bowl.To put people in the stands you need to invite teams with name recognition such as a Mississippi or BYU.Marshall fans are getting tired of the underhanded ways the bowl committee and MAC officials are treating the HERD. GO HERD!

I'm thinking Big East. CUSA means we have to travel to East Carolina. I don't think anyone wants the Herd to make that trip. ŪMany of the big money backers had family on that plane. 2002, the NCAA sanctions on Div. 1 hit. Somebody's gonna drop out of the Big East due to poor attendance...which will leave a 25,000 average attendance Marshall a spot to jump into. CUSA will kill the Herd fanbase...too far to travel. Cinci, Louisville, ??? Anybody want to go to Texas every 2 years? Makes sense to me.
