fans were out of line last MU - OU match up, an OU alumni even complained
about the actions of the OU fans by writing a letter to the editor
of the Herald Dispatch. |

Rumor:
I was at the Marshall-Ohio game and sat at the 20 yard line, about in
the middle of all the Marshall fans. I didn't see any Ohio fans who were
out of line. Every time Ohio scored in the first half, about 8 or 10 students
would march by at field level past the Marshall fans, cheering and celebrating.
But they weren't out of line. It's always annoying for the fans of the
opposing team to march by you like that, and it's just asking for trouble,
but they didn't do anything wrong. If anyone was out of line, it was the
Marshall fans who responded with a few choice words or gestures. But it's
all to be expected from both sides and there was nothing unusual about
it that you wouldn't see at any other college football game. And I did
get a chance to talk to a couple of those Ohio fans at halftime. They
were very polite and I didn't see anything wrong with them cheering for
their team. It is widely known on the macfootball.cjb.net discussion forum
that I'm one of Marshall's biggest football fans, yet I'm an OU alum.
And I'm not afraid to say anything bad about Ohio's football team or fans.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there were some Ohio fans who were out
of line. At any college football game, there are always going to be students
and fans who drink a little alcohol before they go to the game. And they
tend to be rude and abnoxious. Heck, some of them don't even have to drink
to be that way. But I didn't see any of it myself.
