Opinion:
Sept 3, 2001 - Polls. "I
think it is sad that the polls are not giving us any credit. Of
course, if you play the #1 ranked team you are supposed to get beat
but to drop us to 54th in the coaches poll is a terrible thing to
do to us. If that were any other team with a name and they got beat
by the #1 team they would drop maybe a few spots because they were
supposed to lose. I think we deserve more credit than that but it
looks as though we won't get it". Thanks
to < Eric Kutcher > for that opinion.

"So what's surprising?
The National Cash Accumulation Associaton (NCAA) and their designated
peons, the coaches and the lame press (who are bought and traded more
frequently than politicians) don't give a crap about the students or the
quality of performance. They are only concerned with who puts the most
money or benefits in their pockets. MU will never get any respect until
their football program budget exceeds $15 million and the NCAA gets at
least 10% via legitimate revenues and 'benefits'. Just ask Wally Renfro,
who appears to be willing to screw the student athlete as the NCAA 'spokesman'
on compliance matters"

"I love the Herd,
but lets be real, they were trailing 35-0 at halftime. It's a wonder that
even one coach still gave us a top 25 vote. Marshall will be strong again
this year, but they are not deserving of the top 25 after trailing 35-0
at the half, regardless of who they played."
