Opinion: Aug 12, 2001 - Russ Speaks. "how can the MAC expect to be accepted as a true 1A conference. Marshall has the 106 toughest schedule in the division and still has several MAC schools with easier schedules than the herd. The Herd could never compete week in and week out in a real conference. They should have stayed in 2A." Thanks to < Russ> for the opinion

Russ, as to your post about Marshall having the 106th rated schedule in NCAA Division I football, sir I don't doubt or dispute that. However, I will not allow you to downgrade the University that I graduated from and will defend it to the hilt in every case. I highly suspect that you may be a West Virginia supporter who is trying to rub our noses in the dirt. Maybe, I'm wrong, maybe you just want to degrade us and get enjoyment from it. In any case as I said I will not allow you to do it and have signed my full name to this post. I'm not hiding from anyone trying to downgrade my beloved school and as far as I'm concerned you are speaking through your butt with your degrading comments about Marshall and the MAC. Sir, here is something your "nerd-head" intellectual spiteful being needs to be aware of as far as the 2A MAC(as you call it): Ask Virginia Tech of the Big,Big,Bad,Big East if they know where Miami,Ohio is? Ask Vanderbilt of the Big,Big,Bad,SEC if they know where Miami,Ohio is? (2000 Miami33 Vandy30) Ask Minnesota of the Big,Big,Bad,Big Ten if they know where Ohio University is? (2000 Ohio U.23 Minnesota 17) Ask Penn State of the Big,Big,Bad,Big Ten if they know where Toledo,Ohio is? (2000 Toledo 24 Penn St.6) Ask Iowa of the Big,Big,Bad,Big Ten if they know where Western Michigan is? (2000 Western Michigan 27 Iowa 21) and finally ask South Carolina of the SEC, Clemson of the ACC, Cincinnati and Louisville of CUSA, and Brigham Young of the West if they ever heard of the little 2A school(as you call us)from Huntington,WV that beat their Big,Big,Bad Division Big I-A butts. And Russ don't come up with the excuse that those teams aren't I-A powers because you said we couldn't compete day-in-day out at any conference level and our schedule is ranked 106th, remember!!! Marshall could compete in a lot of this so called Big, Bad, Conferences and by the way Cincinnati had beaten Syracuse of the Big, Big, Bad, Big East before being beaten in the Motor City Bowl by the 2A Herd. I guess Russ for a 2A school with a 106th ranked schedule we are doing pretty well. As a matter of fact our little 2A school made it to the Top Ten just several seasons ago of your Big,Bad Division I-A Boys. So frankly, Russ, I have just one more thing to say to you and that is "up yours"!!!! PS Any other loyal "Herd Fans" out there who stand by Marshall don't let this guy get away with this. I'm not saying he doesn't have a right to post, he does, its a free country. But what I am saying is get off your Herd duffs and let this character know where you stand and support the "Herd" 100%.
"GO HERD FOREVER".

Reggie, all I can say is that I back your post 100% as all green blooded HERD fans do. However, I'm not going to come back with a retort to the original post because that is exactly what this moron wants and I don't want to give him the satisfaction.
Again great post Reggie you speak for all of us.
