Pantone 357Rumor: July 27, 2001 - Logo Color Confirmed. Well Herd fans, I've found out a little more about the new shade of green and a little bit about the logo. Interestingly I found this info on Marshall's own web site. This first link points to the "Classified Staff Meeting Minutes" from February 15, 2001. Look for the heading "Logo Committee Report", this section says that the new shade of green is Pantone 357. I have a JPEG sample to the right of this post, but be warned... all monitors display color slightly different than every other monitor (it will look different - darker or lighter - on my monitor than yours) to remedy this "color shift" go to your local print shop and ask to see their Pantone Color Chart and then look up Pantone 357. If you don't have access to a print shop, the best I can do is describe it... the new green is very dark (darker than Michigan State and OU) with a hint of olive in it. This link also gives some description of the new logos that will be used. The second link also points to the "Classified Staff Meeting Minutes" but from April 19, 2001. Scroll down near the bottom of the page and look for the heading "Logo Committee Report" .This link tells how the logo has already been submitted to the Collegiate Licensing Company for approval.

I can't believe that went with that color. It should remain Kelly Green. Michigan State's color is PANTONE 341.
