Comment 4.18.2001 - Where's The Reward?. OK, now the MAC says they have secured a second bowl bid - the old Mobile Alabama Bowl. And guess who we'll play... a Fricken C-USA team. I guarantee C-USA will send a team that's not ranked. We need to play SEC, Big East and other big name conference schools. Playing unranked schools will not get us the national attention we need and deserve.

Subject: Opinion to HerdRumors:

I agree that we need to play a bigger name Conference or Team for the GMAC Bowl but its an improvement for the MAC and possibly Marshall. This bowl will put us in the South where we get a lot of good recruits and this could only be for the best. I definitely agree with you on the level of Competition but we will still get exposuse nationally no matter what. I'm sure it will be an early bowl and that ESPN will broadcast it. So more than likely, we will be the only bowl on TV at the time and people will see Marshall tear up the opposing team. We need to look at this as a positive thing and not a negative. This could turn out to be a good thing. We should be thankful for this, I'm just like the rest of you HERD fans, I want to see us go to a bigger conference, bowl, so on and so on. But we need to be patient on this because as you can see, Marshall has really got it gone on for them and only good things come to those who wait.
GO HERD!
