Best Post EVER! I found on HerdNation.com by
Chezdog30.... "Funny thing last night, I am driving up 3rd
avenue beside Graleys autobody talking with my wife about how
much I hate the MAC and boom...........I look over and there
is Mr. Chryst walking to the hotel. I gently pulled over my SUV
rolled down the window and politely told him what I thought of
the MAC, and how they have been trying to screw us. He said " thats
just business" and I calmly told him in return, " have
fun in 1AA tell Appy State hello!" he dropped his head and
I drove off. I coudnt resist the chance to make him feel like
an idiot. I was very calm but let him know what I thought about
his beloved MAC." Click

Rumor: September 29, 2004 - MU
vs WVU? I
found the HerdSportsPage.com... " Did
anyone hear the Beno Cook interview on Friday on the WVU radio
show???
Trust me I usually listen to my boy paul talk about the HERD but I was fliping
through stations on Friday and ran across this interview. I never really liked
the guy to tell you the truth but he slammed WVU for playing JMU and he said
WVU should be playing Marshall.... ....He really talked well about the Herd
and he said we might not be in the upper class of the NCAA but we aren't that
far away from the top!!! I was just interested if anyone else heard the show
at all???" Click

Rumor: September 29, 2004 - Big
Man for MU Basketball. I
found HerdNation.com... "We
interrupt this football season for some breaking basketball news.
We just got a verbal from a juco big man with a 7' 6" wingspan.
Did I tell you that we beat out Pitt and USC for him? Kudos Coach
Jirsa." Click

Rumor: September 14, 2004 - Joe
Mancin for MU. I
found a very interesting thread posted on HerdNation.com... "I
did get a chance though to ask Joe about how he thought the team
was going to do, and what he thought about the government assisting
Marshall in it's quest to be a top University and atheltics program.
He told me that he was going to pass something right away that
would make Marshall and West Virginia play football, every year,
home and home ... no questions asked. And that it would happen.
He also said that he was going to strongly push for Marshall
to be in the Big East Conference. I said to him that it would
help make the athletic department completely self-sufficent,
putting state money to better use, and providing lots of BCS
monies, while having an economic impact with better teams visiting
the State, and he agreed." Click

The MAC is Poor in '04. If you haven't checked out ESPN's
bottom 10, you might want too. The MAC has FOUR teams
on it and THREE teams on the waiting list (that's half
the conference). Click

Another Close Game. A few comments on the OSU game. What
a game. FIrst let me say, the Herd played good enough to win.
I love Pruett as much as the next guy and I hate it when people
second guess coaches, and I'm not second guessing, I just want
to see how other herd faithful feel about a few things. One,
a minute and a half left in the game, against the #8 team in
the country with two timeouts left, and you dont try anything??
Nugent is the best kicket in the nation, you have to at least
try for a first down. Two, the fake was not a bad call, however,
why run the kicker up the middle??? My last comment is on the
fans. I'm tired of the fans being satisfied with just making
it a good game. Everyone complains about marshall not getting
respect. Playing close games will get you that for a week or
two, then its forgotten. I was pissed that the Herd lost, who
cares if they played well, bottom line is they lost. Well enough
ranting. Go herd all the way to Georgia for another upset bid!
Looking for another close game. . Thanks to Brian for

Doom & Gloom. It's amazing to me how negative people
get after one game. Yeah, they looked terrible Saturday, its
one game. And we have all been spoiled by the likes of Starkey,
Wade, Scuillo, McPeek just to name a few. Give the guys time
to gel and get used to playing together. I'm still looking for
big things out of the team, the defense is outstanding. I still
see a close game this weekend, they better bring it though. Dont
forget the Pruett factor, he has a week to fix the problems.

Opinion: September 5, 2004 - More
Game Thoughts. I hate driving 400+ miles to see a terrible
performance like that. I agree, the O-line was non-existent.
Zac Elcess gave up at least 5 of the 8 sacks yesterday. Everytime
Stan was on his back, Zac was standing right next to him. It's
going to be an 0-4 September, take that to the bank. Our defense
looked pretty good, but Troy has no offense so who knows if they
can handle any other team. If we score next week it will be a
surprise to me. Coaching and the O-line lost this one. Thanks

After Game Thougths. For all of you that have kids in your
house, fatten them up and put them in the weight room ASAP because
we are going to need some offensive linemen by next weekend.
Here's something for our Offensive Coordinator... quit running
the ball up the 2 hole and 4 hole over and over and over and
over, try some misdirection plays for a change. When the DL is
in our backfield all night you can keep them honest by running
a screen over the middle.... enough said. PLEASE STOP running
the slip screen NOW it was predictable 3 years ago. Reply

Rumor: September
2, 2004 - UK & South Carolina to Join C-USA. I
found this rumor on CUSABBS.com "Found
out tonight from a very, very reliable source you could say.
Our soccer conference in the CUSA would only be 6 teams and the
SEC does not sponsor soccer. So Kentucky, South Carolina, and
one other school are joining CUSA just for soccer to make a 9
team conference in that sport. This will be announced soon." UK
is currently in the MAC for Soccer only. With Marshall and UK
both leaving the MAC that will only leave 4 soccer playing schools
in the MAC. Click

Point Favorite. In the latest poll...it says that John Kerry
sucks...and will be destroyed. Oh yeh, and Marshall is a 14 point
favorite over Troy. Also, Marshall will beat Ohio State and then
lose to Georgia. Thanks to Justin for this comment. Reply
