Comment: December 31, 2002 - Mad
About Chad . "We have a chance to be special," Pennington
said. "We have a chance to make history. Playing at Marshall,
I've been able to experience what championships are all about,
and that's what we're focused on. We're not focused on winning
games and coming close. We're focused on winning championships." Here
is the link to Chad's quote after the big win versus Packers." Thanks

Opinion: December 30, 2002 - Basketball. "Whats
up with the basketball team? Are they that bad or is it the coaching?
Something has to be done because a loss to Morehead State and UMass
is unacceptable! For the past two to three years, the HERD has
had one of the most talented teams in the MAC and we consistently
finish at or near the bottom of the barrel. GO HERD HOOPS- start
winning some games! " Thanks to Chris for

Rumor: December 23, 2002 - MAC
Additions. "The
MAC is seriously considering bringing in Troy State and Illinois
State in the near future - this came 2nd person from head of
the M Club." Thanks to marco for this rumor. Reply

Opinion: December 23, 2002 - He
Is Hurt! "My opinion is about Marshall Quarterback Byron
Leftwitch. I know that everyone in Huntington thinks that he
is the number one pick and that there is nobody better than Byron,
but has anyone taken a look at his mobility. I know what you
are thinking, HE IS HURT, but he has had a whole month to rehab
and it looks that he is not getting any better and even before
the injury he was sluggish at best.
At Marshall all he has been asked to do is sit back in the shotgun and throw
the football aginst sub par MAC defenders. In the NFL he will need to use 3,5
and 7 step drops that aginst the best players in pro football. In my opinion
he will have a slow start at best in the NFL." Thanks to Matt Randolph for

Rumor: December 12, 2002 - MU
Will Play WVU! "My
sources up at WVU say that West Virginia would like to replace
Central Floida on the schedule with Marshall. Then have a two
game contract with one at each campus after next year...With
both teams in the top 25 this year it makes even that much sense
according to one of the coaches. " Thanks to Michael for

Opinion: December 12, 2002 - We're
In The MAC. "Byron Leftwich is getting screwed in the
Heisman voting because you guys are in the MAC. Even though you've
produced Pennington and Moss, the MAC gets little respect. The
Herd is a great program. I'd love it if you guys would bump Rutgers
and join the Big East. The rivalry games with Marshall, VT, and
WVU would be GREAT! The Herd has our respect." Thanks to John

Rumor: December 11, 2002 - Heisman
Hype Invites Only 5. "It's
not official yet, but sources tell me that Byron did NOT get
a Heisman nomination. Apparently there are five nominees, and
Byron would have been #6 if they had gone that route. " Thanks

Comment: December 6, 2002 - Get
To The GAME! "This is for the HERD Faithful:
- Pack
the house and be loud come gameday.
- Everytime
Toledo is on offense make noise!! Support the HERD.
- It
is time to Take Back the MAC!
- Toledo
is a ONE HIT wonder!
GO HERD- smack em in the MOUTH!" Thanks to Chris for

Comment: December 6, 2002 - Billy
the Kid. "Billy Donovan seems to have forgotten where
he got his big break. In Tuesday's Charleston Daily Mail when
asked about his decision to schedule WVU instead of the Herd
for Brett Nelson's homecoming game he said that he "never
contacted Marshall. We wanted West Virginia." Just because
a team is in the Big East doesn't mean they are any good. Last
time I checked they finished last in 2001. I think Billy could
have given more respect to the school that got him the Florida
job. I seem to remember Kentucky playing Marshall since Donovan
was an assistant there before coming to the Herd. I'm so mad
I almost will cheer for WVU - nah!" Thanks to Jeremy for

Opinion: December 6, 2002 - Why
the GMAC Bowl? "Why play in the GMAC bowl? I'm sorry
but the GMAC bowl plays the #2 ConfUSA team. Which Louisville
accepted the bowl bid. In the predictions of the Motor City Bowl
they have Toledo vs. Texas A&M. I'm sorry again but I would
rather play Texas A&M than Louisville. The Herd will never
get recognition until we beat someone "big named" and
Texas A&M is that team not Louisville who lost big to Houston
this past Saturday." Thanks to cc for this opinion. Reply

Opinion: December 3, 2002 - Bring
on Toileeto . "After GIVING the championship to those
guys last year, I've been counting the days until we can play
them again. But of course, they'll wine and cry like babies about
the Home Field Advantage after we beat them." Thanks to HerdMan for
