Comment: November 21, 2004 - We
Are Now A C-USA Team. Coach Pruett said tonight on his TV
show on WSAZ that "We are now a Conference USA team, even
if we go to a bowl game we are a Conference USA team." I
like the sound of that! Reply

Rumor: November 17, 2004 - MU/WVU
Series. "It
appears, Governor-elect Joe Manchin is going for the mandatory
Marshall-WVU match up. He says it's a must for the state. Apparently,
he's going to lobby the Legislature to pass some sort of bill
requiring a game ... now the frequency and location trade-offs
is not clear. If that doesn't work, I also hear ESPN is going
for a mandatory match up. They think they can make good money
off the game and are ready to tell WVU to suck it up or prepare
to lose a TV contract or two." Thanks to JC for

Opinion: November 16, 2004 - Emerald
Bowl 2. "I heard the emerald bowl rumor also, it also
will depend on if there are not enough pac 10 teams bowl eligible
to fill the bowl games they are supposed to get, its a long shot,
but we can hope, it would be nice, there is also a good chance
for the MAC to get 4 teams to bowl games, which is also a long
shot, pac 10 is down and so is the big 12 so hopefully the mac
can get lucky and get some teams in the spotlight, but who cares
about the mac now, as long as the herd goes somewhere id be happy,
but i gotta believe miami, niu, toledo, bg and akron is inline
ahead of the herd, but who knows, people know how the fans travel
for the herd and definatly not for other mac schools so that
will weigh big in the decision for some bowl comittees , go herd." Thanks

Opinion: November 13, 2004 - Unbelievable! I
can't believe the mistakes this herd team has made this year, not
just the BG game, maybe Pruett isn't the stellar coach we all though,
maybe they were winning those years because they had future NFL
qb's playing, they got absolutely embarrased both this week and
in the 4th quarter against Akron, something better happen before
they head into Conference USA. i am just at a loss for words at
how bad the Herd played, maybe its lack of leadership, i dunno,
its a shame though too see them shoot themselves in the foot time
and time again, oh well, Go Herd Bball, I think Jirsa is gonna
turn it around there. Thanks to Brian for this

Opinion: November 6, 2004 - Ugh! Can
we leave Josh Davis and Ian O'Connor home next week when we go
to Bowling Green? They were Akron's two best players last night.
I have never seen two players that have such ability have such
a mental breakdown in one game. Davis will probably not get drafted
near as high as he would have after that performance in front of
NFL scouts. There is no excuse for missing 3 field goals, but dropping
the punt snap was the clincher. We now have to finish out another
mediocre season with no MAC Championship and no bowl game. Can't
help recruiting unless you are a wideout or a kicker - should be
easy to make the team. . Thanks to Jeremy for

News: November 5, 2004 - Miami
on Probation? Here's an article that was in yesterdays Cincinnati
Enquirer ."The NCAA places Division I-A programs on
probation when their average attendance is below 15,000 for two
consecutive seasons. Bates (Miami Athletic Director) has described
as "somewhat ambiguous" the penalties faced by attendance-challenged
programs." The article then goes on to say... "Auditors
also determined the Ohio game Sept. 18 drew just 13,140,
which is 6,973 fewer than the announced crowd of 20,113. The
season average includes the audited Ohio attendance." Couldn't
happen to a better bunch if you ask me. Click
