News: July 23, 2005
- C-USA Basketball News. Conference USA basketball coaches voted to adopt
a 14-game conference schedule that includes round-robin play in addition
to three mirror opponents in which teams will play a home-and-home series.
Marshall's mirror opponents are as follows:

News: July 14, 2005 - Jermaine
Filer. According to the Sporting News... "Remember this
name: Jermaine Filer. He'll be one of the nation's top freshmen,
even though he hasn't showed up on any of the recruiting boards.
Filer was among the state of Florida's best receivers in 2003
but couldn't land an offer because of academic issues. He signed
with Marshall, sat out last season and has been impressive in
summer workouts. Former Marshall coach Bob Pruett once called
Filer (6-4, 220) a "Randy Moss type." Click

Rumor: July 13, 2005 - C-USA vs
ACC in Liberty Bowl.   As
reported by the Dallas Fortworth Star Telegram... "In another
bowl move, sources indicate that the Liberty Bowl is close to
a deal that would match an
ACC team against the Conference USA champion starting in 2006.
The ACC would replace the Mountain West Conference champion in
the Liberty." Click

Rumor: July 10, 2005 - MU Basketball
Transfer.  I
heard from anonymous sources that basketball player .... ........
will be transfering to Mountain State University
because of his academic ineligibilty. He will join Billy edelin
as new guards on this outstanding Mountain State team. Thanks
